Bently Nevada 3500-22M Transient Data Interface (TDI) Module
1. Overview
The Bently Nevada 3500-22M Transient Data Interface (TDI) Module is a high-speed data acquisition and event capture component within the Bently Nevada 3500 Machinery Protection System.
It is specifically designed to record and analyze transient events (e.g., trips, startups, shutdowns) in critical rotating machinery, providing detailed diagnostic data for root cause analysis.
2. Key Functions & Features
High-Speed Transient Data Capture:
Records dynamic waveform data (vibration, speed, phase, etc.) at up to 10 kHz sampling rates during machinery events.
Captures pre-trigger and post-trigger data to analyze conditions before and after faults (e.g., trips, surges, misalignment).
Seamless Integration with 3500 System:
Interfaces with 3500/20M & 3500/40M Monitor modules to collect vibration, position, and process signals.
Synchronizes with System 1® software for advanced diagnostics and long-term trending.
Triggering & Event Detection:
Supports multiple trigger sources (e.g., relay trips, speed thresholds, manual commands).
Stores time-stamped event logs with metadata (e.g., machine state, process variables).
Data Storage & Export:
Buffers transient data onboard (non-volatile memory) and streams to System 1® or third-party software (e.g., CSV, ODBC).
Compatible with Bently Nevada ADRE® for detailed torsional/lateral vibration analysis.
Robust Industrial Design:
Hot-swappable for maintenance without system downtime.
Complies with API 670 standards for machinery protection.
3. Typical Applications
Turbine/Generator Trips: Captures vibration spikes during emergency shutdowns.
Compressor Surges: Analyzes transient pressure and vibration during surge events.
Motor/Pump Startups: Monitors slow-roll and critical speed transitions.
